Hopeless by Laurasshadesofgrey Hopeless by Laurasshadesofgrey
Aww, I ran out of room on my paper so this is why the hour glass isnt perfect:(
Couldnt decide on a title, Trapped in Time or out of time??? She seems to have both problems and so its "Hopeless.."

Drawn with HB, 2B, and B pencils, no references, and at least 25 to 30 hours:faint:

I'm the same as Senelfy, reminded me of Aladdin! What I love about this is the expression. Personally, I can feel the emotions of being trapped really clearly. I give it 10/10 :)

So pretty!
It reminds me of a part of Disney's Aladdin, when the princess is trapped in an hourglass as well! :)

:wow: Great Concept! Yeah, I try to make paper room these days, just in case I want to matte and frame the art. I learned that from a framer. Also, great imagination. I really like it.

Here is my thought on drawing. If your eyes are blurring and going cross eyed, time to stop. Also I tend to overwork some art, if you think that you are beginning to do that, STOP! haha Seriously. Heidi:hug: P.S. If you need or want advice, just ask.

i think Hopeless is a good title, but so would be Despair, that is what the expression on her face suggests.
your use of pencils is awesome, i like the fact that you didn't leave any blank spaces on the paper, except for the areas where highlights were required. i can't imagine the amount of patience you must have had to paint all those details, such as the patterns on her sleeves, the roses on those columns... what the heck, i can almost see the grains in the sand falling on her (but i guess that's just an effect caused by the paper).

You know I never thought of Despair, that would have better, Im not good with titles:)And Oh yes this took many many hours to do, Im usually not so patient:laughing:
Youre the first to see the grains of sand this way, I did try to use the texture of my paper for that effect. You have a good eye for detail and for that I Thank You for noticing:hug:

The expression is great, also, you've done the glass well so it looks solid. What I think is actually very clever is how you've done the hand disappearing into the side of the glass - because of the distortion of the curve I think that is what would actually happen. Well done!

Poor girl could use a White Knight right about now... :D Great pencils, Dragon, I love the uniform smoothness of your shading. Your patience shines through on pieces like this. Well done.
